The seagate crashed, corrupting the data. The Western Digital had a run in with a virus. Absolutely not free. it takes 20-30 mins to recover your photos, then if you wish to save your recovered Photos, you purchase the paid version. BOOO!

RS Photo Recovery is very easy to use with a recovery wizard taking you through each step. Successful recovery is however very hit and miss depending on how many photos you want to recover, when they were deleted or how damaged the disk is.
